Open design 308 is ordinary SKF deep groove ball bearings with filling slots for generally use, single row, which have a filling slot in both the inner and outer ring enabling more and larger balls to be incorporated than in standard deep groove ball bearings. Filling slot bearings have a higher radial load carrying capacity, and mainly used for automotive gearboxes.
